The key stats for this year’s EPT Monte Carlo Main Event are now with us and suffice to say it’s another big tournament in the most prestigious location of them all.

After 373 entries on Day 1A and 586 on Day 1B, another 52 players either entered or re-entered before Day 2 began. It meant 1,011 total entries, from 702 unique players.

It put €4,903,350 in the prize pool.

The bubble will burst when the 152nd-placed player is eliminated. The winner crowned on Sunday is due for a top prize of €825,000.

NATIONALITIES BREAKDOWN

There were players representing 69 countries in this tournament in Monte Carlo this week, with most representatives coming from France. There were 146 players (21 percent of the field) carrying French passports.

Monaco’s other near neighbours Italy sent 63 players (9 percent), with 44 from Spain, 40 from the UK and 36 from Germany. Some of the smaller nations with representatives in Monte Carlo include Uzbekistan, Senegal, Algeria, Venezuela and Cuba.
